Question

Add Clips from Source Monitor (Avid Style)

Hey,

So one of the featrures I loved in Avid was the ability to load a timeline into the source monitor then find the fotoage I wanted to use and when I clicked insert or overwrite it laid the clips down. Right now if I do that in Premiere it lays down a timeline clip... Is there a way to tell it to lay the clips seperate down???

Does that make sense? I am sure someone who has worked in Avid understands..

Thanks!!!

I use both softwares and I don't think Adobe has a workflow that covers that editing style.

I think copy and pasting between timelines would get you close to the way you want to work as a work round.

You could try raising a request for a feature inclusion on the Adobe website.

Yep - there's a button in the top left corner of the sequence window that looks like two clips on top of each other. If you click that it switches between laying down the sequence or the source and you'll see the extra tracks pop up on your source side.
