Adding keyframe to audio clip levels made impossible cc2020

On the timeline, when pressing the add keyframe symbol next to a track it will generate the keyframe where the timeline cursor is on an audio clip that is selected. My workflow has, for as long as I can remember, been that I then press right arrow to scroll along the timeline and then press the "add keyframe" symbol again to set a new keyframe.

Only now in Premiere CC2020 pressing it will erase the previous set keyframe(!!) , not generate a new one.

And it will keep doing so, unless i deselect the clip I'm working on, then select it again, then press add keyframe. Then it will add the new keyframe without deleting the previous one I set.

Moving the timeline cursor with the mouse and then clicking the add keyframe symbol still works fine, but this is not my workflow.

Is this a bug of the new version or is it some strange thing in my system. It seriously interrupts my flow when doing the audio mix. Its taking me forever to do the simplest audio mix. I've been an Adobe Premiere user for 20 years.

Please someone tell me if you are experiencing the same thing?

I've temporarily assigned "add keyframe" as a shortcut function on my keyboard, from the shortcut menu. That works fine with scrolling with left/right arrows.

I see. Well, you can always lay them down quickly with ctrl-click and then make any adjustment after. However, I do see it working the way you explained. I can lay down normal keyframes using the effects control panel (level) but using the button on the audio header adds one, then when you move with arrow keys it removes the last one and then with another press adds the one you want!

User Voice is where the Adobe engineers look for bug reports, enhancement requests, etc. The urgency for bug reports or new features can be judged by how many of us users upvote the requests. You can search for similar requests using the search feature at the lower right. It's best to upvote a request that has some traction (votes) already, and you can upvote and reply to that thread. If you don't find one the matches your request, then enter a new one. Regardless, post a link back here so those seeing this thread can upvote also.

Cheers! I will check that out to see.

Theres always multiple ways of doing the same thing in Premiere, and I'm never reluctant to learn anything new, but in this case it just annoyed me so much that I wanted to check if its a new bug, or if anyone is experiencing the same thing.

I will check out the bug reports : )

Thank you.

I'm surprised you've been using that button all this time. Ctrl-click adds a keyframe to where you click.

Ctrl-Clicking with the mouse on the timeline is just too inaccurate. It will too often set a keyframe not at the place where t I want it, but just a little to the left or right.

Keeping one hand on the right/left arrow scrolling to exactly where i need to be, while the other hand on mouse hovering over the "add keyframe" symbol pressing it as I go along. Its what I've come to learn as being the fastest way to set keyframes at exact timeline positions when doing the audio mix, keyframing volume levels for example.

I may be wrong, but at least thats what my muscle memory is now 🙂
