Adding text layers dimms the background

Hi there,

I'm encountering this problem when adding a new text layer to the timeline causes dimming the layers beneath (in the background). Please see the demo here. Why is this and how to fix that so the titles won't affect other elements in the sequence?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Hi again,

I realized I wasn't being attentive when adding a title template named "Basic Title on Background", which additionaly had a 80% opaque background rectangle. It's easy to mix up with the template named "Basic Default Title" that has just text (both template thumbnails look the same). That rectangle caused the dimming. Here's a short demo.

We had this issue some years back.

Try

Turn off Composite in linear color,

rendering set to software only,

export software encoding.

Interesting. We need to investigate this some more. I would think it has something to do with either effects you are using or the different track items underneath. Or can you repro this with a much more reduced case as well? Would you please give me all details of the stack on the timeline? (effects used, opacity settings including blend mode, what is that "black" track item?)
