Adding text to video in CS6?

I want to add text to a video. One source on the net said select the type tool, but I do not see a type tool on the toolbar. How do I create text?

Found a tutorial. Not sure how I missed it the first time.

CS6 has a very objectionable flaw. In order to change the font, one must select the text, but this installs around the text a rectangle with squares at the corners which obscures the text a fair amount, making it difficult to judge without deselecting the text, which is time consuming when trialing many different fonts.
