Question

Adjust WB via Blur

In Ps there's a trick for correcting colour casts that involves a duped layer and blurring.  You dupe your main layer, apply an Average Blur filter, Invert it, then change the Blend Mode of the blur layer to Soft Light. It works by, effectively applying an opposite filter colour to the cast in the image.  It's not dissimilar to applying a gel over lights to change the light colour temperature.

Pr allows use of layers, you can invert colours and it has the Soft Light blend mode. What, as far as I can tell, is missing is the Average Blur filter.  Is ther a blur filter in Pr that is similar?

Thanks.

I don't know of one ... that "Average" blur in P-shop does average the color and density of the pixels of the image ... a rather special kind of blur, and all the ones that I know in PrPro don't have that particular feature.

Trying to figure out a way to create that ... but haven't.

    Interesting idea.
