Adjusting sped up audio

I've increased the speed of a dialogue audio clip to 160% and selected "maintain audio pitch," but then the dialogue sounds like it's under water.  What edits should I be making to this?  I'm not looking for the audio to sound perfect (I figure given the increase in speed, that would be hard), I mainly want to decrease that tunneling/under water sound.

Thank you!

As Richard said, Audition is the way to go. It works well.

Thank you.  Would you still recommend I do that if I have never used Audition and don't need it to be "perfect"?

Probably so. It depends on how much you can tolerate with the Premiere version. Here's a google search for audition

If you have it, I would send the clip to Audition and do the speed change there.
