Question

Adjustment layer not possible to give multiple names / colors

I have a workflow where I use sequences to spot. The way I did this was to have all the footage on the first layer and than select bits and pieces of shots and move them up the 'ladder' to a heigher track. The heigher, the more important.

I also put a adjustmentlayer on top of everything, that I cut into big pieces to name a scene or a certain part of the day. Often I used different colors as well. But now when I cut an adjustment layer and I change the name and color, its universal and it changes to the same name and color everywhere.

In my opinion this is far less usefull for adjusment layers. I dont see the upside and I now dont have a quick visual cue on where to find stuff in my timeline.

Click on the wrench menu in the Timeline panel and uncheck "Show Source Clip Name and Label". When this is on you are seeing the name and color of the source item back in the project panel. Thus if you change it, it changes everywhere. When this setting is off, the Timeline is showing you a local name and color and you can change each clip separately.
