Adobe Aremiere Pro.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close

I've just installed Premiere Pro on my computer but when I try to open the program I get an error message saying: "Adobe Premiere Pro.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I've got a PC running on Windows 11 Pro.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10500 CPU @ 3.10GHz (3.10 GHz)

64-bit version

Graphic: Intel UHD Graphics 630, version 31.0.101.2135 (Latest update)

Memory: 8 GB RAM

I've tried to re-install, I've tried to run PP as administrator, I've tried to reset preferences but nothing seems to work. Sidenote: I installed InDesign the other day and that works just fine.

Would really appreciate some help 🙂

Thanks,

Jakob

Even if you get Premiere Pro to open, I doubt that you will have a pleasant editing experience with those specs.

Hey Jakob,

Sorry for the issue. What type of source files and effects are you working with? It's possible that your current system specifications might not be able to support the complexity of your project. Please also share your current Premiere Pro version and let me know if your system has a dedicated graphics card in addition to the Intel integrated graphics.

Thanks,

Ishan

Hi Isahn,

Thanks for your reply.

The problem occurs when I try to open Premiere Pro. I get to the intro page but then I receive the error message. So I never been able to open the actual program. I'm running the 25.3 version and my computer doesn’t have a dedicated graphic card in addition to the integrated graphics.

I see. You haven't made any projects yet, and Premiere Pro fails to load past the splash screen on the first launch. Is that correct?

Please go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore and move any files you find to a different location. Do the same for C:\Users\<your  username>\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\25.0\Profile-<your username>.

If the problem continues, check if your Documents folder is saved in OneDrive (C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Documents\). If that's the case, please disable OneDrive for your Documents folder.

Please let me know if either of these options help.

Thanks,

Ishan
