Question

Adobe Encore - getting rid of excess files in the Sources\ directory to make it more likely to work?

I still have to support legacy media like DVDs and am struggling with Encore on Windows 10.

Its pretty flakey.

But I also think that its becasue we make DVD menu templates for each of our products and each one is based on some original sometime in the past.

Hence a lot of excess files and baggage builds up and I think this makes it more unstable.  Thats my theory.

Just which files can I get rid of to clean things up?

At present I am removing the Sources\Menus\*.mpg  *.m2v  *,xmps *.xm*

Can I get rid of the Transcodes folder contents?

So really I am asking what files I can get rid of to trim this thing down without completely breaking it.

I have not found it that different in Win 10, but I am not doing that much challenging work  now.

Getting rid of any of those options things is not likely to fix what makes Encore a problem. Create a new project. I have found that you can usually import menu (after exporting them). But links, etc, have to be redone. Yes, it takes some work, but Encore is likely to work better.

Thanks Stan,  however our templates in Encore are Elephants and it would take a long time to just start from scratch.

We have about 20 chapter playlists etc. etc.  for example.

This page is helpful but just wondering if there was any anecdotal advice.  (By the way, deleting the Sources\Menus some files in there has caused some of my projects to work in the past.)
