Adobe premier pro convert video to mp4

I am using premier pro to edit videos for YT. I exported the video 3xs and once it was done each time the file downloaded as a propj file. I selected H264 each time and it said mp4 document would be exported... but yet it continues to be a proproj file and I can't upload it YT.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

So this is my first time using premier altogether. So I'm not sure what the forum is , the element, etc. So your help is definitely appreciated

Exactly how did you export?

Where did you export to?

I export via premiere by going to File, export, media, etc.

Guessing you are selecting the wrong file to upload.

If you are on Windows, turn on File Name Extension in the View tab in Windows Explorer.

So I think I'm getting somewhere... the extension options under window in premier pro is blurred out and I can't select it
