Adobe Premiere crashes when opening a project bin

Hello all,

I'm working on a Adobe Premiere Project. My computer is not so great for editing but whenever I try to open up a bin from project folder in Premiere the program crashes and gives the famous send report thing.

I'm working on a 2015 Macbook pro.

Processor:  2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

The videos I've uploaded the project is 250 GB. Most videos are 1080P, a few of them are UHD. I've got the proxies. 

I'm working on external drive because I'll need to change into another device after rough cut. All my autosaves are saved on the external drive as well. In these conditions, what can I do best to prevent this crush?
