Hello Premiere peeps! ok, I have some vhs 720x480 footage, digitized. when you dump that into timeline it matches settings automatically whichbis cool. but im using some 1080p footage too in the project. my 1st question is it best to drop in 1080p then add the 720 stuff and scale up? second question, id like to use 5.1 sound but it defaults to stereo when you drop in footage. if i manually choose the project settings, im worried i wont use the BEST settings for overall quality of project! any feedback is greatly appreciated! Billy

In Adobe Premiere Pro, first create your sequence in 1920x1080 using the HD footage/settings, then bring in the 720x480 VHS clips and scale them up. That way you preserve the HD quality instead of scaling everything down.

VHS footage is usually interlaced and uses non-square pixels, so you may need to use “Interpret Footage” or deinterlacing if it looks stretched or shows combing artifacts.

You can also safely create the sequence with 5.1 audio manually. Audio master settings won’t affect video quality at all

Hello Otlowski! Thanks for the feedback!!! I seem to have trouble with the whole creation of sequences....I'm thinking that I saw someone say that you can't change the sound to 5.1 without stsrting a new project? Now, I can create a new sequence and change that to 5.1 sound...but how can that sequence be used inside my main video sequence? Or DO I have to start new project? Thanks in advance!
