Question
Adobe premiere pro 23.6 crashes, NVIDIA drivers
Hi there, I have unsuccessfully tried to resolve an issue with my new computer.
1. Application Version:
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Versions 23.6 (have tried with other versions, same issue)
- Adobe Media Encoder 23.6 (have tried with other versions, same issue)
2. Platform and Operating System Version:
- Windows 10 Pro, Version 22H2, 19045.3448 (Had windows 11 first, downgraded to troubleshoot, but same issue).
3. Basic Steps to Reproduce the Issue:
- Launch Adobe Premiere Pro (or Media Encoder).
- Open a project, or start a new one, insert XAVC S 4K footage.
- Render, or export.
- After between 2 and 10 sec, the application unexpectedly shuts down or totally freezes.
4. Expected and Actual Outcome:
- Expected Outcome: Adobe Premiere Pro (or Media Encoder) should operate without unexpectedly shutting down, allowing for uninterrupted media editing or encoding.
- Actual Outcome: The application crashes and closes unexpectedly, preventing any editing or encoding tasks from being accomplished.
- Now, I don't even have the crashlog that appears, but I have been able to collect one on the premiere pro 22: The application crashed with an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error. The crash seems to be related to AVC (Advanced Video Coding) decoding. Crash reports consistently point to the nvcuvid.dll associated with NVIDIA's video codec SDK.
System Specifications:
- Machine: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB (4x16GB, 6000 MHz, DDR5-RAM, DIMM) totaling 64GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, Driver Version: 536.99 (have tried with other drivers such as 528.24, or 528.49 or 522.25)
