Hey everyone,

Has anyone here downloaded the official Adobe Premiere Pro 26.0 update and had a chance to test it in a real production workflow? any issues opening projects created in 25.6  is it worth updating right away or better to hold off for now?

This version is very slow at exporting, something I already considered bad in version 25, and it got even worse in version 26. It seems that Adobe hasn't implemented improvements in exporting or improved codec support with the video card. When you try to use the new features and encounter an error, and contact support, they always say it's the video codec and that they outsource it. I'm testing DaVinci Resolve, which exports super fast. I had one here and didn't even know it came with a 4k capture card I bought; it came with two SD memory cards. I thought it was some kind of manual drivers, but when I decided to look at the contents inside the memory cards, there was DaVinci Resolve with its respective licenses. Please, Adobe, implement performance improvements in processor and video card usage, improvements in rendering time, and codec support with the video card. In this respect, Blackmagic is far ahead. All these features are useless for my needs, since the program has become even slower at exporting and performs poorly, failing to properly balance the use of the processor and the video card.

My video card RTX 5060ti 16 gb vram e 64 gb ram.

What's the codec? That is also a crucial bit of data. What framerate/size, how many tracks each audio/video ... and of course, what effects, say Warp, Lumetri, time remapping, anything.

Or simple straight drop a clip on a blank timeline panel, export ... what are you comparing? Data matters.

Click the "check for updates" button every so often. It will appear over the next couple days sometime. Sigh.

All right, I'm launching version 26, so let's see, it's already available for update in Poland, just like After Effects and Audition have new releases, keep your fingers crossed 🙂

Adobe's YouTube popped up this morning and I couldn't see an update in my Creative Cloud.    Now, 6 hours later, it is there and installing.

Ah you are not asking about the beta.

26.0 was just released: Premiere without the Pro.

Have not seen it yet: always last in line.

Haven't seen it either yet. Worldwide slow roll? I did an update today, but that was only a point release. I haven't seen 26 in my CC yet.

They roll it out by 'zone' anymore. So typically the US west coast has been about the last to get the new release.

Warning from the dev's they recommend that you do not use a beta version of Premiere Pro for critical production work.

There is no problem opening a 25.6.4 project in 2026 but it does have some bugs and we recently had a crash bug. A few features so not work properly, but you can always test.

Beware a project from 2026 will not open in 2025 due to new feature especially the masks.

I only work with the beta, but then I don't have clients or deadlines.
