Adobe Premiere Pro Crashing When Opening a Clip

I recently installed Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 on a new laptop. Premiere Pro (same version) was working fine on my old laptop, which had much lower specs (4 GB RAM, Intel Core i5), but once I open a Premiere Pro project on my new laptop and select a clip to play, Premiere Pro crashes and gives me the 'Adobe Premiere Pro has Crashed' Crash Report. I'm running Windows 10, which I was also running on my old laptop. My new laptop is 64-bit, has 8 GB RAM, Intel Core i7-8550U and Radeon Graphics. Does anyone know why Premiere Pro keeps crashing when I try to open a clip?

- What kind of clip are you trying to open?

- Where does it come from, camera, screen recording, etc?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. So the clips that I'm trying to open are from Windows movie maker and the Film and TV setting from windows 10. One clip is an episode from a Web Series I shot a while back and the other is a video from a camera recording.

I would have tried two things. The first thing to do is to trash the Preferences in Premiere Pro since corrupted Preferences often/always is the reason behind odd behaviour. FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences in Premiere Pro?

If that don´t do the trick i recommend you to un-install Premiere Pro CC 2018 and install it again.
