Question

Adobe Premiere Pro freezes over little changes

Hi!

Recently Premiere Pro has been freezing over little changes. For example, increasing the duration of a text or moving a clip from one track to another. Even extending a clip freezes it. And for all of these little changes, it would freeze for about a minute before it actually does the change. And it could be an extension of 1 second and it would still freeze. It's making editing 10x longer for no reason. I watched every single setting video online to make Premier Pro "flow" better but no matter what I do it constantly freezes. Before this it was manageable, but right now with how frequently I have to add or move clips around it's making it extremely difficult. If anyone could assist me I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

PC Specs

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900k CPU @ 3.60GHz

RAM: 64GB with 56GB allocated to Premier Pro

Operating System: Windows 10 and it's updated to the latest update.

I did all of that and nothing has changed. It would work fine for about 5 minutes then it would go back to how it was.

My footage format is an MP4

and for the sequence settings, I have:

Timebase: 60fps

Frame size: 1920x1080

Display format: 60fps

Working color space: Rec. 709

Preview File Format : QuickTime

Codec: Apple ProRes 422 LT

1920x1080

and I have composite in linear color checked as well.

If you need more settings let me know.

Thank you.

. Reset preferences

. Clean media cache

. Delete render files

update graphics card driver to latest studio drivers

I don't think premiere pro will use more than 32 GB of RAM

What footage format are you working with? what are your sequence settings?
