In addition, most laptops do not return to maximum performance mode after a wake from the sleep mode if the power settings are set to Balanced or Power Saving. You should set that to Maximum Performance for the best results with Premiere Pro.

It will be in Control Panel under Power Options.

How do I set my computer to high performance?

To see your power plans on Windows 10, right-click the battery icon in your system tray and choose “Power Options.” This screen can also be accessed from the Control Panel. Click the “Hardware and Sound” category and then select “Power Options.” From here, you can select your preferred power plan.

Hi takj,

I understand the issue might be with a memory leak. Have you tried restarting the laptop? Please check the Task Manager > Performance for memory & cpu utilization.

Thanks,

Vidya.
