Hi there. I'm trying to figure out if my old macbook pro is going to be compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects before I go ahead with a subscription. These are the specs: Macbook Pro 2015. 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5. 8GB memory. Graphics: Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB. And I have about 52.3 GB available of flash storage.

Anyone know if the program will run smoothly?

thanks!

didn't even notice the free drive space.  Yeah, you should always keep at least 10% free space on all drives and 20% on your startup drive.  If you fill up your drives, all sorts of unpleasant things can happen...

8 GB RAM will be a struggle, especially for After Effects.

52 GB storage is not significant.

you can generate lower resolution proxies to get smooth playback.  The proxy workflow can be a bit tricky, but once you've figured it out, it works beautifully.  And when you export a video, Premiere will always go back to the camera original for the best possible quality.

And there's a free trial available for at least premiere pro (not sure about AE)

SD (Standard Definition) video probably yes

    HD probably not

    4k absolutely not
