Adobe SRT Streaming configuration

I want to stream the output of my program in Premiere to the director in another city. I believe VLC is able to receive such a stream.

I tried multiple things to configure ADOBE SRT and VLC but it's not working. I am pretty sure that it's entirely my fault.

Can someone help with a simple walkthrouh in Premiere and VLC? For instance what is the ip address needed? Do I have to open a port in my router? If so, what type of port? There is no SRT protocol in my router for this.
