Advice on most stable Mac OS and Premiere combo

Hi all,

I'm looking for advice on the best working combo of Premiere Pro and Mac OS.

My machine is:

iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, 2019)

3.7 GHz Intel Core i5

64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB

I had a bunch of problems with CC2021 and Big Sur, so at the moment I reverted to Mojave (10.14.6) and Premiere 2020. It's been 100% stable so far but I'd like to upgrade to take advantage of both Premiere and Mac features. I'm a bit scarred from the issues I had last time...

Any advice on most stable combo, and recommended way to upgrade is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Arginsky,

The latest and greatest seems to be OK so far on my Macs. If you are concerned about it, you can always create a bootable backup of your Mojave setup with something like Carbon Copy Cloner so you can go back quickly. Agree that Mojave was a pretty smooth experience with Premiere Pro. I never had any issues with it. Good luck.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

I'm (finally) getting around to upgrading. What combo of OS and Premiere would you say is most stable right now?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi I'm on same iMac as you. Just curious what you upgraded to and how are you finding stability?
