AE files are jerky in Premiere

I've imported some AE precomps into Premiere, but when I play the video the AE clips are quite jerky... whereas any video clips seem okay.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks, do you mean opening them up in AE and viewing them kinda thing? Or actually exporting from AE as mp4s?

I mean rendering the Premiere timeline by using the enter key. Or you could Render and Replace the AE clips, that is what I do.
