Question

After clicking play, the video plays for a milisecond and stops.

In mid August, my PC Tower did not turn on.

I took it too a store to have it looked at.
They replaced the power.
They also cloned my PC, and upgraded it from 1Tb to 2Tb.

Everything seems to be functioning… until I went into Adobe Premiere Pro.
When I have a project and I click play, it automatically stops after a millisecond or two. It is just as if someone or something presses stop.

This makes editing painful.

So I got into a ChatGPT loop… and went through so many ideas.
One thing I did notice that is strange is that the Device Manager when it opened flashes everything on and off quickly.
Not sure if that is something else or if it is tied to this problem.

Finally I gave up on Premiere 2026 and tried Premiere Beta. Same thing.
Then I gave on Premiere Beta and downloaded the last version of Premiere 2025 and same thing.

I have run speed tests and everything. It all seems fine but there is no answer to this. And I have so many videos to edit as I attend conferences as official press and I also edit content constantly. So this will slowly drive me nuts. Actually it already has.

So if anyone has any ideas on how to solve this issue please let me know.

Also I updated everything… the software, the PC, the NVIDIA Home Studio Drivers. Everything you can think of.

My friend thinks if we partition Windows and then reinstall that it will help? But I am scared to mess with anything like that.

That is usually a GPU or RAM issue.

I would use the Cleaner Tool and reinstall Premiere.
The cloning process may not have worked well for Premiere.

Here you can see what is happening in Premiere Pro and in the Device Manager.
