After Effects compositions keep getting unlinked in Premiere Pro

So, this issue has been bugging me since forever:

I use After Effects compositions inside of Premiere Pro. It all works fine, until I close Premiere and re-open it at a later time. Then all of my used After Effects comps get unlinked. Relinking them only results in this "Connecting to Dynamic Link server" dialog box staying on screen forever, not actually doing anything.

I've attempted the usual troubleshooting steps:

• Making sure Premiere, After Effects and Media Encoder are all up-to-date.
• Closing the apps and relaunching them
• Rebooting my computer

The only "workaround" I've got right now is manually re-importing each AE comp individually. As you can imagine, a real pain the ... for projects with a lot of comps.

It has persisted over several versions of Premiere and After Effects and I am at my wits end. Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated, a fix for this problem even more so, Adobe 🙂
