After exporting files in Adobe Premier Pro 2024, the video is overexposed

Question

After exporting files in Adobe Premier Pro 2024, the video is overexposed despite disabling the effects that are added before export in its window. I don't know what to do? I used the 2020 version a lot of time and I was satisfied, and now when I wanted to go back to a newer version after 2 years, I regret it because of this problem. Is there anything that can be done about it?

Due to the coming of HDR video, it's not as simple as it used to be. Ann's links are helpful. Basically, you need to decide whether you want to work in SDR/Rec.709, the standard video color space up until recently, or HDR ... high dynamic range, and if so, which HDR format of the two Premiere 24.x can work with.

THEN ... set the color management options correctly for your desired ending output.

Of course, this doesn't address the oddity caused by Apple, as their OS based color management which controls things like Quicktime Player, Chrome and Safari, applies an odd and out-of-standard display transform to Rec.709 video files. Making them look lighter in the shadows with washed out color.

Of course, this doesn't happen on all Macs, but only on those without Reference modes set to HDTV ... so Apple does actually know how to use the appropriate transform, they just decided not to for many users. How ... nice.
