After importing clips they're turning into duplicates in the project bin

I am importing media into my bin and they’re playing as duplicates in the source monitor. They're also reading as the same clip within the bin. Once you place clip on the timeline does it show the original footage within the clip, no longer the duplicate. I’ve reset my preferences, updated my PP app, and still nothing is helping.

Please advise.

I figured out the problem. I just uploaded the clips from the media browser instead of using import. Not sure why it happened with these particular clips, but they’re no longer duplicated.
