After installing plug-in, clips are missing from timeline. Won't re-link
After editing a book promo my client asked me to put a filter on some shots to improve his complexion. After watching some Youtube tutorials I decided to try the "Neat Video" noise reduction plug-in. After installing it I reopened the project I was working on and found that of about a third of the clips were missing. "Media Offline". When I right-clicked on them to "Link Media" and hit "Locate" Premier finds the clip but when I hit "ok" I get a message "The selected file does not contain video media used by clip referenced in one or more sequences. These video clip references will be deleted, and cannot be undone. Do you want to continue." I hit "ok" and sure enough it deleted the clip and did not replace it with the original even though it is in the same place it has always been and nothing has changed. I uninstalled the "Neat Video" plugin and opened a backup version of the project on a different drive and the files were all there but the one with the missing clips were still missing. So I tried to install another plugin "Beauty Box" from an entirely different manufacturer, the same thing happened with my back up version. Only this time not as many clips were missing so I replaced them on the timeline manually. Needless to say I uninstalled that plug-in as well. This looks to be a bug in Premier or it wouldn't have happened with two different plug-ins. I did notice on installation it asked me if I wanted to install it in Library folder that seemed like it was an earlier version but It did show up in my effects panel so it was found by Premier. Can anyone help? I would like to be able to install one of these plugins but I don't want to corrupt all my projects.
