Since the Premiere 2020 update, I can't open my .prproj in Media Encoder.

Error is:

File Import Failure

 - Unknown error during project import.

Yeah, a great feature, but not necessary to open the project in ME.  In premiere, select your sequence, go file:  export:  media, and then click on queue.  that will send the sequence to ME for rendering.   Or is that what you're saying isn't working.

Ahh! I re-installed media encoder and it works now! Thank you. Truthfully, I think I had the old version of Media Encoder, which is why it wouldn't accept the .prproj file.

Please tell us your system specs: OS version, amount of RAM, and Hardware specs.  And do you have the 2020 version of media encoder installed?   I'd start by deleting AE and Media Encoder using https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and reinstalling both apps.

I didn't even know you could open a premiere pro project in AE.  Why would you want to do that rather than selecting the sequence or clip you want to export in Premiere and choosing Queue?

I find ME renders quicker and uses less resources, and also frees up Premiere.

It doesn't throw an error for me, it just doesn't work
