All of a sudden I can't add a new captions segment - even though the + button is not greyed out. Click it - but no new segment gets created. Que pasa?

Working merrily adding captions on a seq. Then I must have clicked something erroneously because now I can’t add any new segments to the caption track. Playhead in the right place… + button illuminated. What have I done wrong?
