Alt tab / Switch Windows Freezing Premiere Pro.

There is a problem if we switch or press alt tab or minimize the window several times, it will cause program and windows stop working.

This issue occurs from adobe premiere 15.0 up through 15.4.1.

Then when I downgrade to version 14.4, this problem disappeared. But I still want to use the new function of the latest version anyway.

(This problem is only Premiere Pro)

What I have done :

1. Re-install Premiere Pro

2. Update Nvidia Studio Driver lastest version

3. Remove Plug-in and Mogrt

4. Clear Media Cache & Windows Cache

5. Reset plugin caches and preferences

My Spec :
AMD 5950x

Nvidia RTX 3080

Ram 64 GB BUS 3600

Windows 10 64 bit

P.S. Sorry for my bad grammar.

I had a similar issue with a newer version of Premiere Pro. Whenever I minimized Premiere or sometimes even clicked away from its window, the program became unresponsive for 25-30 seconds when I tried to use it again.

I tried reinstalling Premiere, clearing caches, updating my drivers, removing third-party plugins, enabling/disabling REBAR in BIOS, enabling/disabling HWA GPU scheduling in Windows, and changing the system power plan and GPU drivers to high performance, but nothing helped.

Not knowing what to do next, I almost accidentally decided to remove the folder Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro, and it fixed the issue. I then copied the removed folder from my another computer (which never had this issue) to get back all my custom settings. It’s been working like a charm so far.

Hello, I come from the future, I found the definitive solution for this problem. Since version 14.4 in 2020 I have had this problem with all versions of Premiere onwards, I tried everything up to reinstall Windows and always the same thing happened... until I tried this: Disable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows 10.

Now I can edit without Premiere freezing my whole system.

I also have a powerful PC (3800x and RTX 2070 Super , 32GB DDR4)  and this happened to me too. Rolled back to 2021 and tadaaah.

It seems that anything past 2017 in Photoshop is HORRIBLE (lag/tearing/performance issues), yet Illustrator gets saved on ver2021 (Except for the 2022 version, wich lags a tiny bit on startup)

Adobe better get a new QC team before destroying their own products

Yeah sure, we want the newest features, but we also want the performance and stuff FIXED
