AME ignores plugins on export

I've upgraded to the latest versions of Premeire and AME after this began happening in the previous version.
I can export directly from Premiere without an issue but exporting the same sequence in AME, ignores my plugins (Boris FX). 
Any ideas what I can do?  I've tried exporting in AME with parallel encoding turned off and rendering "software only". None of this has helped.
