Question

analysing for auto reframe slow

I like the auto reframe option for creating 9X16 clips.

I'm finding now that the analysing works fine until the last 10% where PP slows down and stalls.

I have plenty of data space on my drive so not sure what's causing it.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The process completely depends on your footage. Are you working with really long clips or a really compressed format such as H.264 or H.265? You could try converting to ProRes and see if it processes faster or work on shorter duration files. Drive storage is likely not the bottleneck here. You can also open your comptuter's Task Manager or Activity Monitor (Win or Mac, respecitvely) and see if any particular resource such as CPU, GPU, or RAM are being utilized at a particularly high rate.

Thanks David,

Yes, they are long and have only had the issue when working with longer clips.

I'll try your solutions and see how it goes.

Cheers!
