now that Microsoft has extended security updates for Windows 10 until october of next year, it seems silly to me to still stop supporting the system, at least until June of next year.

Here’s an answer from our resident expert on hardware and OS issues, RJL190365 … basically, MS is not extending ‘full support’ to Win10, only minimalist security updates if the user is using a certain form of Win10 and pays for the support.

    Here is the issue:

Free feature support has already ended permanently as of October 2025, and will never be brought back. And the extended support only applies to those who are purchasing or have already purchased the Extended Security Update plan, which does not cover feature updates at all—only security updates. Plus, newer versions of Premiere now require the use of features that does not function properly in Windows 10, and cannot be circumvented at all without crashing the program. Therefore, Adobe support for Windows 10 must have ended for all newer major version releases if older OSes are no longer receiving free mainstream support.
