Apple Silicon M1 Update

I posted here earlier on in 2021 initiating a debate regarding Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Silicon M1 compatablity. I just wanted to add an update and say that the latest project I'm working on is running as smooth as I've ever experienced with any editing software/hardware setup of mine in the past. It's been a pleasure editing this wedding. 10 minute cut of 4k footage, colour graded and effects added, multiple sequences and dynamic link. My computer hasn't crashed once and as I'm coming towards the end of the edit playback is not dropping frames.

I have proxy'd 75% of the footage using the prores proxy preset in Media Encoder and I have added the Global FX mute button in the playhead section, both of which I switch between during my edit. I am also running at 1/2 resolution playback.

Whatever the latest updates Adobe have made for M1 compatability it's really made a huge difference for me!

I'm looking forward to any future compatability updates for After Effects.

Welcome for discussion.

Cheers!

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! I've been hesititant to move forward with M1's for my company but this eases my concerns a bit.

Do you find proxies to be required in your case? If you don't make proxies, do you get subpar performance?

Are you on a M1 Air, MacBook Pro, or iMac?

Playback runs smoothly with proxy media disabled right up until I start colour grading.

I'm on the Macbook Pro 13 with 16gb RAM.
