Archives back-up : Log workflow and project management

Hi everyone,

First things first : I work for a fairly big venue and shoot in S-Log3 but I believe that's not the question since my problem applies to every kind of Log workflow and every kind of venue.

My editing process is quite simple : import footage, trim A-Roll, trim B-Roll, edit, color grade, export... you know the drill.
Once done , my movie isn't really important anymore, it can be stored as is. My A and B-roll on the other side are a different story : the will be re-used heavily.

Using the project manager (copy only used files) isn't cutting it so I'd like to transcode my trimmed clips... but I don't want to bake in color, I need to keep my Log files as is.

Do you guys have a solution other than keeping your whole project ?
Thanks for your input,

Cheers,

N.

If you use the Color management option "preserve RGB" and export subclips to ProRes 422 or 444, you should get log ProRes files of just those bits.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
