Aspect ratio and settings screwed up after combining different video clips.

The Aspect ratio screwed up after combining different video clips.
I was combining low quality older video clips with more recent video clips and somehow the premiere software had the aspect radio all screwed up on the newer videos. It almost like certain things were changed to accommodate the older video but ended up screwing up the newer video aspect ratio so poorly that the video had like zoom in and cropped to a point that you could not even see the person's head in the video.

I don't mind if the final product has poorer quality or different aspect ratio/settings for the small clip however screwing up the entire product becasue I put in a small video clip somewhere in the sequance is very bad.

How can I make the software stop changing the settings on the entire video project because of 1 random youtube clip added to the sequence?

Thanks.

It sounds like you have your Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) values confused.

Create a Sequence at your desired output setting with a 0 PAR and then add your clips to that.  Premiere Pro will work out the rest and all of your footage should appear proportionally correct.

Premiere will add clips of varying frame--sizes in a manner dependent on how you have the Preferences/Media/Default Scaling set. So ... go there and set what you need.

It could also be that when you set the output settings to match the source file. Maybe it looks at the first clip in your source file and matches those settings to the rest of the video?

If that is the case, a 5 second clip in the beginning could screw up the entire video even if it accounts for less then 1% of the video.

I will also check out those settings to see if they can be fixed from there. Thank you for the advice.
