Attach proxy's on segmented RED files?

So, the DP was kind enough to provide proxy's on the red footage. This saves a bunch of time since all I have to do is right click and attach the proxy files.

Now there are frequent instances where the RED take is segmented in multiple files (+4GB) but there is only one .MOV for the take.

Is it possible to attach the proxy? Because when I try this it does not seem to work. The proxy is out of sync when I attach it, it only spans part of the original red footage.

Any thoughts?
