Audio auto turned up!

Hi there,

I have this issue that started out of the blue..When i open my Audio file in Project and play it in Source, audio is normal, but when i drag it to the timeline, its turnes way UP, peaking constantly. I have no effects on it or anything...I even tried opening the file in Audition, there is normal...I even lowered a bit, did some denosing etc, and when i save it and play it back in premiere, its peaking again, its like somehow Premiere adds +40 gain to it or similar, its constantly peaked at max...

Did anyone have similar issue or know why is this happening? It started in the middle of a project i have been working on for a while, didn't change anything in the process.

    The Mix track for your sequence has been turned up by 15 dB.

    This can sometimes happen accidentally when clicking and dragging in the Timeline, as it might adjust the volume control for the Mix track.

    To fix this, you can:

    • Open the Audio Track Mixer (Window > Audio Track Mixer).
    • Locate the slider for the Mix track.
    • Double-click the slider to adjust the volume back to 0 dB.

    Make sure Default Input in the Audio Hardware in the Preferences is set to No Input.

    It was set to No Input. Still didn't fix this.

    I deleted all the peak and preview files, its creating new wavefoarms, but still no fix. 

    The file in Window Explorer is normal, in Source Window in Premiere - normal. Only on timeline.

    Is there some new secret menu that i maybe accidently activated, where Premiere auto adds gain to files as soon as they are imported in to Timeline? Feels like that 🙂

    From what I can see, this isn't an Audition issue - it appears to be emanating from Premiere. You might like to ask about this again on the Premiere forum.
