Hi.

I am on version 23.5 of Premiere Pro, windows 11.

I've upgraded my recording footage from 1080p to 1440p and ever since then I've had audio issue.

Everytime I let timeline play for a while, the audio will stop coming through, then go through again and keeps cutting in and out until I pause the video. It's not specific clips either! When the issue starts happening I'll just pause for a bit, start it again and it plays fine for the next 5 seconds. I have 2-3 audio tracks and sometimes only one of them will stop having audio.

I bought more RAM because I thought it was a loading issue. However, I am currently at 64G of RAM and Premiere only uses 17G at maximum when I've allowed it to use up to 50G.

This audio problem only happens during playback of the timeline. Audio is fine when the project is exported

Here are all the things I tried to fix the problem but didn't work:

-I tried to drop the playback resolution to 1/8 but that doesn't work. It still plays the video at full resolution so that's another problem.

-Like previously mentionned Premiere is allowed to use up to 50G of RAM. I have an RTX 3070 ti graphics card and a 12700k Intel CPU. I find it hard to believe it would be a hardware problem.

-I've messed with audio input and output devices.

-I watched a video that said to change certain procesing settings (cant remember which settings unfortunately) but I didn't have to change anything because my settings were already what the video said they needed to be.

I know this souldn't be happening since I dont work on huge projects. It would be a blessing if someone could help me find a solution!

It's an unusual problem, we hate to see you go, but if gotta go...

Did you try the Preferences\Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

You can run the Adobe Cleaner after you uninstall the programs and before you re-install them:
Also, reboot your computer between steps even if you are not asked to...
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

It does remove your preferences and other customizations. If you don't mind or you have backups of these things, then give it a try.

Will try!

Before I proceed, will this destroy my current projects?

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-clear-your-media-cache-in-30-seconds-in-premiere-pro-2020/m-p/11017257/thread-id/260446?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/8236158?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

I tried everything and it unfrotunately didnt work:(

I even did them again after restarting my pc.

Maybe the hardware is incompaitble or something.

I'll have to look into a new editing software unfortunately...

Thanks So Much for the reply!
