Audio Channels "Weird" When Creating a Multicam Sequence

So I'm kinda new to the multicam game, but I get it for the most part. My biggest issue, for which I have formaulated a complicated workaround but need a simpler one, is that the audio channels are behaving strangely in the resulting sequence from my multicam. I want the audio channels to act like they would whenever I create a standard sequence - but they're not. Some of the audio plays through left only, some right, I can't really apply "fill" effects to switch sides. One channel, for some reason, plays audio really muffled. Anyone experience this and know a quick solution?

It seems that you are creating multi channel timelines and mix them with stereo timelines, or vice versa. If the source clips are stereo, create stereo timelines unless you are delivering multichannel audio.

Thank you. Basically my audio recordist provided me with 4 channel audio file, a couple containing boom mic, and the other two containing different lavaliere mics. In the multichannel sequence, I want to have the options to use whatever channel sounds the best when I edit. So I need those four channels to basically come "straight across" and appear as that would if I simply dropped them into a new standard sequnce.

If you use a timeline with the Mix track set to Stereo you can do that as well, iow having full control over the 4 channels and mix/pan them as you want. Set the Track Type to Mono while you are there. If you use a Stereo Mix and Mono tracks the problems you have will go away.

If the 4 channel file comes in as one track when you import it you will have to use Modify > Audio Channels as well to set them as Mono so each of them plays back in center instead of only left or only right. Right click on the audio file in the Project panel to do this. All this depens of the audio itself, whether it is stereo such as music or mono as in a speaker/voice over.

The Audio Track Mixer in Premiere is your friend here when mixing/editing/panning the audio.
