Audio Digital Aux Synch
Hello
When I record a guest speaker at our non profit using a canon mini-dv camcorder I also record the lecture using a Sony digital recorder. I do that in case the camera fails, a power outage, the unexpected. Thus I should have the original film and the digital audio backup asset.
I have a one hour talk. What happened is that the wireless microphone now and then spiked and random loss of connection thus I have several inconvenient gaps here and there on the timeline.
What I attempted to do was to use the digital audio in place of the film audio track.
I inserted the digital audio on the timeline. At the beginning the speakers is addressing the group and both audios (film and digital) are synched. However the digital audio is stretching out along the timeline losing synch as the film plays.
At the end the speaker will say ‘That should do it, thank you’ and that matches the film its audio track. However with the digital audio ‘That should do it, thank you’ has ‘stretched’ out for at least a full minute and longer. Same audio - word by word - however the digital did stretch.
Is there a method to snap that digital audio into the film so that I have a complete synch beginning to end? If I could use that digital audio all those bad audio glitches would be removed.
Let me know
Thanks!
