Question

Audio editing in Premiere - How to remove/mute background music?

I am currently running an older version of Premiere (6.5) and considering upgrading to the “Cloud” but have a question first.  Is there an option in the new version (or in my version for that matter) of Premiere to remove background music or at least reduce its volume?  I know the version I am currently using can reduce noise in the background but I want to take out/reduce the music volume playing in the background during an interview.  The person talking on the video clip has a label mic but the music is still too loud.

Thx

You need Audition to remove background noise but I doubt if you will be succesfull in lowering or removing music.

If you have the chance redo the shoot.

Thanks Ann for responding, yes I hope to find software that can filter out, or lower background music that was recorded during an interview. Maybe this software doesn’t exist, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask .

    Thanks,

    Bob

iZotope | Audio Plug-in Software for Music & Post Production might do the job but are very expencive.
