Audio flipped in Premiere Pro

I'm using Premiere Pro Version 13.0.2 (build 38) for Mac OS, and am getting a strange issue where my audio is left-right flipped. Anything in the right channel comes out on the left, and anything in the left channel comes out on the right. The source audio, when I play it in another application, such as VLC, is correctly flipped. I am doing quite a bit of panning to match events in my video, and not having the ability to properly hear the result as I'm editing is confusing.

I've tried playing with the "Audio Hardware" settings to no avail. I've also tried chaning the "MIDI audio" settings int the Mac OS system Preferences, but no matter what I do, Premiere defies the setup.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I find that gives me the right effect when I'm working, but then I have to add it to every clip I'm working on. Then, before exporting, I have to undo the effect lest I "lock in" the backwards sound.

It's a stopgap measure, but it would be nice if there were some way to have the audio come out of the right channel.

Interestingly, when I export the video from Premiere and then play it in another player, the Audio is properly panned.
