Question

Audio gets unsynced when I move a clip

Hi,

when I move a audio-clip in premiere, the audio get unsynced.
This happens when the "Show Audio Time Units" is on and off.

It seems like the finetuning I did in "Show Audio Time Units"-mode cannot be kept.

You find a video example attached.

Does anyone have an idea what this could be and how I could solve it?

I have the same exact issue.

Is there any fix for this?

When you move a video file with Audio Time Units turned on, it will still snap to the frame. However, audio-only files won't snap to the frame unless they're linked to a video file. In that case, they will also snap to the frame, which causes them to lose sync with the video file.

A great way to ensure that your audio remains in sync is to add your synced video and audio to a multicam sequence. This method will help prevent any audio shifting, even with Audio Time Units turned on.

Cheers,
Paul

Does the same thing happen if you keep 'Show Audio Time Units'  instead of frames when moving the video?

Unfortunately,  yes.

I attached another video that illustrates the problem.

Try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/8236158?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Unfortunately, none of it worked. I also tried uninstalling Premiere and then tried old versions - nothing changed. Also on my old laptop with old Premiere version there is the same problem.

I attached another video that illustrates the problem.

By the way: If I move only audio without video, everything works.

After you've manually synced, are you then selecting the two tracks and clicking the "Link" option?

Yes I did - the Clip is moving right, but the audio inside get a little bit off.
It looks like the audio file jumps back to its original position.

That also happens, when I dont link the clips and select them all.
