Question

Audio hardware sample rate keeps changing back to 8000 Hz

I've recently encountered a problem with the playback in my project. Playback is very choppy and sometimes it won't even play. I've contacted support and figured out the problem was the audio sample rate. When going to audio hardware in prefrences, the sample rate has only one option which is the 8000 Hz when it should be at 44100 Hz. When I press settings to go into Audio Midi Setup and change the sample rate into 44100 Hz, premiere keeps changing it back to 8000 Hz. However, I can change the sample rate in Audio Midi Setup to 44100 Hz outside of premiere.

This is what has been causing the playback issue. I've only had this problem for less than a week around the same time I updated my Premiere. I have the latest version installed (version 11.0.2) but tried to fix this by going back to version 11.0.0 but problem is still there.

Anyone knows why? Thanks in advance

Have you been able to figure out a solution for this? I'm having the same problem.

Not sure it is related to your problem but most video uses a sample rate of 48k, 44.1 is for cds

Well whichever it is, I only have 8000 Hz as my option which is causing all the lag on the playback.
