Audio is distorted in Premiere Pro

I have been running Windows 10 with Premiere Pro for the last 5 years with no problem. All of a sudden my audio is distorted in Premiere Pro while my video remains normal. I cleaned all the media cache files which freed up over 20 GB of space but the problem still remains. Please advise. Thanks!
