Audio is not showing up in timeeelinee

Hello everyone! I recently got a new camera along with a movo external microphone that plugs into the camera itself. I am trying to pull up the footage and audio into premiere for the first time and the audio is not showing up. I see the video footage as normal and it is accompanied by audio in the timeline but there is no sound and no wavelengths in the green audio timeline to reflect any sound. The audio is heard and works fine on my computer and imovie so this is a premiere issue. How do I get premiere to pick already reecorded audio from an external mic? I went into the audio hardware tab and couldn't see any options for the movo mic. Any help is appreciated as I do not work with exterenal mics usually. Thanks!
