Audio loudness different after export to mxf op1a

Hello 2 all.

I've been a video editor for more than 20 years in FCP and Premiere Pro (PC and Mac). Lately I'm working on tv shows for Disney, RTL and Warner Brothers Discovery.

Today I exported an episode with 2 mono tracks with an average loudness of -24 Lufs as desired by the television station.

After export, I reimported the MXF file and measured the episode again, where loudness has changed to -21 Lufs average.

When I send the file to the television station, it gets rejected, because of the audio being nog loud enough, with an average of -27 Lufs (???)

In my entire career, I've never had issues like this before. At this point there is simply no way to tell if loudness is correct or not.

I've also used Audition to normalise audio to the desired average of -23 / -24 Lufs. After export in Premiere Pro (with normalised audio tracks) loudness is still different from the desired loudness.

Does anyone have the same issue and / or knows a workaround for this?

I work on a MacBook Pro 2018, with Intel I7 processor and 16 GB of Ram.

Please make a new thread, including your full OS, hardware, and media data.

Then list what you're doing, what happens, and what you want. Then we can actually help.

Btw, if it's a 3dB change, that frequently is because of "power law" when going from stereo tracks to mono or vice versa.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

I'd be concerned about AME crashing.  Ignoring problems that don't stop you from continuing to work can be dangerous (although I understand the importance of getting something done in the short term).   Does AME crash when you send to it on one of the sequences with the probematic audio or all the time?   Could be an issue with the project/sequence that's causing AME to crash.  When (and if) you have the time, it would be a good idea to address the AME issue probably in a new thread.   Are you working at home (or your own studio) or are you working at an agency/studio where something in the network might be causing the issue?

Hello to all,

I'm using version 23.4.0 on Intel Mac.

I export directly in Premiere as AME crashes before exporting.

What Adobe version ?  We not seem to have any issues on exporting and Loudness. you mix them in premiere or export and then use the loudness in AME? And you export directley? or by AME?
