audio playback in middle of of track and rest of track is shuffled around

audio clip messed up, play backs to beginning of clip and mixes up audio. Audio sounds fine when listened to in media player but messes up in the same spots when imported in premiere pro. I updated my drivers two days ago (NVIDIA 596.49-I don’t think that’s the issue), the audio seems like it’s fully rewritten. When I try to import into a different project it’s still messed up in the exact same places.
