Audio Playback Lag in Premiere Pro

I've had problems with audio lag in premiere pro ever since the text based editing update and it's still not been fixed in recent updates.

Whenever I add audio to the timeline, there is a lag everytime I click play. The preview and sound is distorted whilst the blue marker in the timeline doesn't move. This lag lasts 5-10 seconds. It happens every time I click play and is making editing clips extremely difficult. This problem didn't exist until recent updates.

Computer meets far beyond the minimum specs required and premiere pro is fully up to date (24.2.1).

Hi there!

Sorry about the issue. Can try switching Default Input to No Input? Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware. If this doesn't help. What's the source of the media files? Are they screen recorded footage? If so, can you try transcoding footage: https://adobe.ly/3V6nkzo

Let us know.

Thanks,

KR
