Question

Audio Re-arranging/chopping itself?

I am fairly new to premiere pro and have only started using it for a course in college.

I recorded a voice over track using Audacity.

Whenever I open the audio files in premiere it seems as though the clip has been chopped up and put in a different order. For example: A word that came at the very end is now at the beginning, and a few spots are cut off by other words/sentences that don't belong there. It's clearly too much work to put everything back in order word by word. I've re-downloaded the files, compressed them, all I can think to do and the problem persists.

I've seen someone in my class have a similar problem and they never found a solution. They simply re-recorded. But I can't do that because I was renting the recording equipment for one day.

Also the audio file is fine when I open it in quick time, groove music, audacity and other general audio players.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Project is due soon!!!

What format are the files?

Open them in Audacity if they work correctly there and then export them as 48khz 16 bit wav files.

Then import those converted files into Premiere Pro.
